Looks like the USGPO — the agency the published official documents related to the federal government — has updated its site, and is rolling out the beta of a project that makes XML docs of Congressional bills publicly available: govinfo.gov/features/beta-uslm

Seems like good news for app and designers with a political bent.

I hadn't seen this before, but this may be an even better resource: theunitedstates.io

It's a set of open source government tracking tools maintained by the Sunlight Foundation, GovTrack.us, the NYT and the EFF!
